The exclusive show, entitled White Christmas, begins at 7:30pm; doors open at 6:45pm. The festive evening will feature belovedclassics and contemporary gems as well as pay homage to Shona’s illustrious career over the past two decades. Your heart will twinkle with joy as you journey with Shona through memories of Christmas Past, delights of Christmas Present and hopes of Christmas Future. Currently touring the world starring as Donna Sheridan in the International Tour of MAMMA MIA! Special Guest Star Philippa Lynas

Shona is delighted to announce that she will be joined by the sensational Philippa Lynas at 54 Below on 1st August 2018
Philippa Lynas was born and bred in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. After studying for two years in New York City at the prodigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy Philippa was nominated and went onto win 2011's Broadway's Rising Star where she performed at one of the oldest Broadway theatres, The New York City Town Hall.

She has performed in various shows in New York and is fresh back from sailing around then world as Cunard Lines' lead production singer on board the largest ocean liners in the world, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. Philippa is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall in July and Feinstein's 54 Below in August.

In September Philippa begins rehearsal in London to join the new cast of QM2 where she will sail around the world for the 2018 season.

Shona is delighted to announce that she will be joined at 54 Below by the fabulous Christina Bianco

Christina Bianco’s singular voice and comedic charm have brought audiences around the world to their feet. Bianco captured international acclaim as a YouTube sensation with her ‘diva’ impression videos, gaining over 24 million views. Dubbed ‘the girl of a thousand voices,’ Christina has performed on major television programs such as The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Meredith Vieira Show, The Queen Latifah Show & The Today Show, in the US alone.

A Two-Time Drama Desk Award nominee, Christina made her West End debut starring in The Menier Chocolate Factory’s hailed production of Forbidden Broadway at the Vaudeville Theatre in London. New York credits include The Marvelous Wonderettes, the one-woman, multi-character comedy, Application Pending (Drama Desk Award Nomination), Newsical the Musical, and Forbidden Broadway; Goes To Rehab (Drama Desk Award Nomination). Christina originated the role of Dora in the long-running National Tour of Dora The Explorer Live, including two sold-out runs at Radio City Music Hall.

As a concert artist, with regular NYC appearances at Birdland, Feinstein’s and Town Hall, Christina has performed her critically acclaimed solo shows to sold out crowds across the U.S. and on luxury international cruise ships. Abroad, she’s enjoyed extended runs headlining at London’s Hippodrome, Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, The Charing Cross Theatre and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She recently completed a 13 city, UK solo tour titled, Me Myself And Everyone Else, and made concert debuts in Australia, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa.

Television credits include the POP TV sitcom Impress Me, Hallmark’s, Signed, Sealed, Delivered and VH1’s I Love The 2000’s.

Christina frequently performs with major US and Canadian symphonies. She recently debuted her solo symphony show, The Woman Of A Thousand Voices, with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Jack Everly.

Christina is a life long New Yorker and resides in Manhattan with her husband and their loveable schnoodle, Jeff.

Musical Director Yasuhiko Fukuoka

Shona is delighted to announce that her musical director for her Broadway debut at 54 Below will be Yasuhiko Fukuoka

Yasuhiko Fukuoka is a versatile pianist and in-demand composer who is recognized both onstage and off for his virtuosic talents.  His emotional, story-driven music has captivated audiences throughout the world. His works have appeared at prestigious venues from Lincoln Center to Festival de Cannes, spanning many genres of music from orchestral to electronica.

His credits include TV, film, theater, industrial videos, and concert pieces. They have been played in North America, Central America, Europe and Asia. He has performed at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Steinway Hall, Berklee Performance Center and many other venues.  Fukuoka was recently honored with a 2016 student Academy Award for original composition for Yvonne Ng's film 'Cloud-Kumo'.

As a highly accomplished Music Director Fukuoka has worked with Broadway’s most celebrated artists.  Highly sought after in New York City’s Cabaret scene, Yasuhiko’s arrangements continue to display both his versatility as a composer as well as a performing artist.

Fukuoka’s passionate, creative approach towards the art of music has brought multiple successes to his career. Not least among them is his original score for “Seagull,” a short film by Nick Sarafis that was accepted at Festival de Cannes Court Métrage. His orchestral composition “Journey of a Thousand Miles” premiered at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

Having been hand selected to participate in BMI’s exclusive film scoring workshop with Dr. Rick Baitz, as well as being chosen to participate in the NYU/BMI Workshop for Music in Commercial Media, Yasuhiko’s disciplined approach to his studies within music have built a foundation from which his career has flourished.

As a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Fukuoka has been able to explore and excel in multiple music genres including classical, contemporary, electronic, film, and world music. As a student at Berklee, Yasuhiko garnered numerous achievements and recognition including an “Award for Excellence” at the Kyoto Piano Competition and the Yamaha PTC Concert respectively. He is the recipient of the Berklee World Scholarship, BMI Scholarship and the Roland Award to name a few.

A highlight of his student career was when Fukuoka was commissioned by Berklee’s Film Scoring Department to compose an orchestral piece representative of their program at the Professional Writing Division Concert. The premier of the piece was a successful debut which awarded Fukuoka enthusiastic praise both in the US, and by Japanese media.

Having recently branched into dance composition, 2017 promises to be a year of outstanding collaborations between Fukuoka and some of the performing arts most successful choreographers. The coming year will also provide a platform for Yasuhiko’s release of his EP.

SHONA MAKES NEW YORK CABARET DEBUT AT FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW

  Shona is delighted to announce that she will make her New York cabaret debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below on 1st August 2018. The exclusive performance, entitled The Great ‘White’ Way, begins at 9:30pm; doors open at 8:45pm. The intimate evening will see the Scottish songstress take the audience on a musical journey, sharing the songs that have shaped her story so far. From Wicked to Chess via London’s swinging 60s, ABBA and Scottish folk. The news follows the announcement that Shona will be starring in the International Tour of MAMMA MIA! playing the principal role of Donna Sheridan. The tour will open in the UK on 31st May 2018 and Shona will be performing in this exclusive show en route to Toronto which is the first international venue for the tour. MAMMA MIA! HERE SHE GOES AGAIN….

Shona is thrilled to announce that she will be starring in the International Tour of MAMMA MIA! playing the principal role of Donna Sheridan.

 

Shona said “I am delighted to be returning to the island to play the role of Donna once again given that MAMMA MIA! holds a very special place in my heart”.

 

Having first played Lisa in the London production in 2002-2003, Shona went on to star as Sophie and most recently appeared as alternate Donna at the Novello Theatre between 2014-2016.

 

Shona is the first actress to have played both the mother and the daughter in the smash-hit musical and is excited to be taking the show on the road!

 

The tour will open on the 31st May 2018 with several dates in the UK before visiting countries including Canada, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. The full schedule is to be announced.

Shona White becomes Patron of the Playhouse Theatre

SHONA WHITE ANNOUNCED AS PATRON OF LONDON’S PLAYHOUSE THEATRE Scottish actress, singer and musical theatre star Shona White has accepted an invitation to become Patron of The Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End. Shona White said “I am thrilled to become Patron of such an historic venue which holds a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to supporting The Playhouse as it goes from strength to strength”. As a well-established leading lady, Shona has played a number of iconic roles including Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show at The Playhouse, Elphaba in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, Éponine and Cosette in Les Misérables, Florence in Craig Revel Horwood’s Award Winning UK Tour of Chess and most recently Donna in Mamma Mia! at London’s Novello Theatre. Shona added “I feel privileged to have performed onstage at The Playhouse and as Patron I am keen to help promote the venue to ensure its future success”. Jenna Harvey, Theatre Manager, commented “The Playhouse is honoured and delighted that Shona has accepted our invitation to become Patron, it’s wonderful to have someone of her calibre on board to represent the theatre”.
